The other day after I parked the car, and was walking down my street toward home, I was struck by the beauty of creation all around me. I think we often take natural beauty for granted - at least I know I do. And maybe that happens particularly in a city. Noticing the beauty around me reminded me of my college days. My college campus was an amazingly lovely place and I tried, as an undergraduate, to be conscious of my surroundings as I walked to class each day. I tried to make it my practice to give thanks for my surroundings - the trees, the flowers, the grass, the water - each day. And so, when I noticed the beauty around me the other day I was brought back to my practice so long ago. And I thought I should try to bring it into my life again. To beauty, and creation, and memories....
