This is a belated post from last Saturday, when I had the joy of spending NEARLY A WHOLE SATURDAY in the gardens. First, St. Mark’s Lutheran with amazing favas and the joy of one of Kris’ signature labyrinths…..then at Little Red Hen and St. Aidan’s with a great harvest of delicate greens and planting of more greens, plus carrot, radish and beet seeds. Oh, and a few cucumbers and eggplants. Summer!

This is a belated post about a beautiful Saturday. My friends Rebecca and Chris asked me about helping with a gardening day for Braid mission (Braidmission.org - check it out) - their amazing ministry with foster youth in San Francisco. We did the gardening day on Earth Day, which was great - and we planted succulents. I talked with the youth about the fact that succulents are hardy, resilient, unique and beautiful - (just like each of them is what I was thinking.) We planted and we found some veggies in the garden and then we shared lunch. It was - just to be plain about it - kind of magic. Photos and memories and blessings here....
