I keep meaning to post a photo of the beautiful wildflowers at Stanford. They were a little on the thin side last year, but with our recent rain they are coming back. I notice them every workday morning when I walk from the train to campus. They bring me such cheer and spring thoughts....

I am thinking today about how thankful I am for friends, particularly my gardening friends Jan and Ed - who emailed me the other to say that they'd like to donate their rainbow chard to one of the food programs I work with. I delivered this gorgeous chard today to my friend Tree, who will distribute it at the Free Farm Stand in the Mission tomorrow. Thank you, Ed and Jan, for your generosity and friendship and caring.
As you know from reading my blog, I rarely post pictures of myself. But my friend Kris took this photo and me and my dog Zilly - and I can't resist. So here we are - along with some pics of new carrots and beautiful lettuce. Happy Sunday!
