Today I had the chance to visit my friend Tree's garden - which is called the All in Common Garden. I brought our harvest from the St. Aidan's Little Red Hen Garden - lovely beets, kale, our first squash, carrots and greens. Tree will give these away at the Free Farm Stand tomorrow. The All in Common Garden is a beautiful place with such a heart-felt mission - growing food in a little oasis in the City and giving it all away. Visiting Tree brought back many memories of our Free Farm days....

Last weekend, I had the joy of traveling East to New Jersey for my sister-in-law Eve's ordination - a glorious event in our family's life. I was reminded how much I miss lilacs while I was there, and couldn't stop talking photos of them! And then I came home to a huge harvest of kale, greens, beets, and carrots from the St. Aidan's garden. I delivered them today to the Free Farm Stand in the mission - they weighed in at 3 pounds....(I don't usually weigh things, but that felt impressive!) Also couldn't resist posting a photo of Page's beautiful carrots from our home garden.... Last Sunday, a gorgeous breezy day, I had the joy of walking to the Free farm stand to visit my friend Tree and deliver to the stand veggies from the St. Mark's and St. Aidan's gardens. Photos of the bounty are in the slide show below - kale, beets, bak choy - and squashes are coming! Kale was given out at the St. Aidan's Diamond Diners lunch...... |
